Raiders at Chiefs Week 5 MNF Recap
One of the better prime time games of the year took place this past Monday night when the Raiders took on Chiefs at GEHA Field. The Chiefs went into the game as the clear favorites as they were favored by seven points and the Raiders were getting seven points. The Raiders came into the game 1-3 as they have struggled to use their weapons on offense effectively and they have been shown to have a vulnerable defense.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs came rolling into the game 3-1 and they looked like the Chiefs from years past even though they lost one of their best offensive weapons in Tyreek Hill in the offseason. The Chiefs were able to show that their offense can adapt without Hill and they can still be just as successful when using superstar tight end Travis Kelce who scored 4 touchdowns this game.

Near the end of the second quarter, the Raiders defense started to break down and they allowed Patrick Mahomes to connect with Travis Kelce on his first touchdown of the day on a 1 yard pass. The Raiders were able to get the ball back and post a field goal with only 17 seconds remaining in the second quarter. However, the Raiders defense fell apart and they allowed the Chiefs to get into field goal range and kick a successful field goal as time ran out in the second quarter.
The Raiders went into halftime up 20-10 even though they led up 17 points for a majority of the game up until this point. Even though the Chiefs were getting dominated by the Raiders' offense and defense they were still only down 10 going into halftime which Patrick Mahomes has proven many times he is able to overcome a deficit like that.
Things started to fall apart for the Raiders in the third quarter. Their offense completely shut down and scored 0 points in the third quarter, while the Raiders defense gave up 2 more touchdowns to Travis Kelce making the score 24-20 Chiefs going into the 4th quarter.
In the 4th quarter, the Raiders were able to get their offense going again and they managed to put together a drive for a field goal at the start of the fourth making the score 23-24 Chiefs. The Chiefs then scored another touchdown with Kelce, but they failed the 2 point conversion making the score 23-30 Chiefs. The Raiders were able to respond late in the 4ht quarter with a massive 48 yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Davante Adams. However they decided to go for the 2 point conversion and they failed to get it making the score 29-30 Chiefs. The Raiders were able to get the ball back and get to mid field, but Adams ran the wrong route on the last play of the game causing him to bump into and knock down Hunter Renfrow causing the pass to be incomplete.
